Economic dynamics will improve further, which will have a positive impact on GEL and support its strengthening, - Giorgi Kakauridze, Deputy Minister of Finance declared.
The national currency has strengthened by 25 tetri for the last 30 days, but as of June 7, GEL has devaluated against USD by 7.78 tetri.
“Positive dynamics in the economy is vital for GEL strengthening. It is important to improve the positive expectations caused by easing the restrictions, including the opening of land borders. All this has raised positive expectations in the private sector, which is one of the main factors informing of GEL exchange rate.
GEL is experiencing leaping devaluation, as well as strengthening due to the floating exchange rate. Today, the situation is relatively stable, economic dynamics of the next period will be even better, which will have a positive effect on GEL", - said Giorgi Kakauridze.
