Economy Minister Natia Turnava declares, that redouble efforts are needed in order for the country to gain the status of a leader in terms of economic growth in the region.
Natia Turnava declared about it during the presentation of the 10-Year Development Strategy of the Ministry of Economy, which is part of the long-term economic development plan presented by PM Irakli Gharibashvili.
"Despite the economic decline of -6.2% in 2020 after the pandemic, we will still remain as one of the leading states in the region in terms of economic growth; This means that we need to redouble our efforts to achieve the status of a leader.
In recent months we have seen that this is possible. Unprecedented economic growth has been observed in April and May, so economic growth this year will be at least 8%. This means that we will completely reverse last year's decline and move to absolute growth, and then maintain 5% -5.2% growth in 2025-2030, which will strengthen our status as a regional leader in economic growth," said the Minister of Economy.
