Electricity Consumption Up By 14.9% In November

The Electricity Market Operator (ESCO) declares that Georgia consumed billion 203.6 million kWh of electricity in November, up by 14.9% compared to the same period of the previous year.

As of the report, the country consumed 12 billion 406.7 million kWh of electricity in 11M2021, which is 13.4% more compared to the same period of 2020.

Electricity generation has also increased in Georgia this year. Namely, the generation of local hydro power plants reached 1 billion 186.2 million kWh in November, which is 37.1% more than the same period last year. The share of electricity generated by the thermal power plants also increased during this period, and in November their total generation amounted to 432.5 million kWh. In November 2020, thermal power plants generated 340.2 million kWh of electricity.
