For the state of November 1, 2021 number of employees engaged in the economy of Azerbaijan compared to the corresponding period of previous year increased by 16,8 thousand person or 1,0 percent and made 1702,1 thousand person, 903,6 thousand of them were the employees of the public sector and 798,5 thousand person were the employees of the non-public sector.

19,4 percent of employees were engaged in education, 18,7 percent in trade; repair of transport means, 12,9 percent in industry, 8,1 percent in health and social services provided to population, 7,5 percent in construction, 6,6 percent in public administration and defence; social security, 4,3 percent in transport and warehouse, 3,5 percent in agriculture, forestry and fishing, 3,4 percent in professional, scientific and technical activity, 1,8 percent in finance and insurance and 13,8 percent in other fields of economy, reads the latest data of the State Statistical Committee of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

In January-October 2021 average monthly nominal salary of employees engaged in the country economy compared to the corresponding period of previous year increased by 2,6 percent and made 722,9 manats (US$425). Average monthly nominal salary in the sphere of mining industry, finance and insurance, professional, scientific and technical activity, information and communication, as well as transportation and storage was higher.
