In a statement issued today, the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable development of Georgia touched upon the information that BM.GE had disseminated earlier about Energo Pro's decision not to supply regions with electricity after the law requires it to diverge.
The Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development noted that till this moment there is no company identified that would agree to take on this task. The main reason for that is that this task is not profitable from a business standpoint.
"Energo Pro Georgia restrained from founding a separate company for the supply means, which is permitted by the law" - reads the statement from the Ministry.
The Ministry also noted that on the one hand it continues communication with the Company and on the other, considers other alternatives - including founding a state-owned entity which will be responsible for the uninterrupted supply of the electricity.
