Exports Of Georgia Up By 26% Y-O-Y

In January-August 2021 the exports of Georgia (excluding non-declared exports) equaled USD 2 610.8 million, 26% higher year-on-year, - show the preliminary data from Statistics Office of Georgia (Geostat).

According to the report, the domestic exports in total export constituted 72.7% and amounted to USD 1 899.1 million, 28.7% higher to the same period of 2020.

In January-August 2021 copper ores and concentrates reclaimed the first place in the list of top export items, equaling USD 517.9 million, or 27.3% of total exports. The exports of ferroalloys totaled USD 265.5 million and their share in the total exports amounted to 14%.

MAJOR COMMODITY GROUPS BY EXPORTS

1. Copper ores and concentrates - USD 518 million, an increase of 1.3% over the previous year;
2. Cars - USD 293 million an increase of 13% over the previous year;
3. Ferroalloys - USD 265 million, an increase of 82% over the previous year;
4. Natural grape wines - USD 144.7 million, an increase of 18.6% over the previous year;
5. Alcoholic beverages - USD 93 million, an increase of 22.6% over the previous year;
6. Mineral and fresh water - USD 92.5 million, growth - 32%;
7. Medicines packaged - USD 63.6 million, a decrease of 0.1% over the previous year;
8. Mineral or chemical nitrogen fertilizers - USD 56.8 million, an increase of 5.8% over the previous year;
9. Nuts and other nuts - USD 45.5 million, an increase of 58% over the previous year;
10.T-shirts knitted - USD 45.2 million, an increase of 64% over the previous year;
Other commodities - USD 992million, an increase of 39% over the previous year.
