In January-May 2021 the exports of Georgia (excluding non-declared exports) equaled USD 1. 54 billion, 14.4% higher year-on-year, show preliminary data from the National Statistics Office of Georgia (Geostat).
According to the report, in January-May 2021 copper ores and concentrates reclaimed first place in the list of top export items, equaling USD 327.2 million, or 29.1% of total exports.
Major Commodity Groups by Domestic Exports:
1.Copper ores and concentrates - $ 327 million, an increase of 26.7% y-o-y;
2.Cars (re-export) - $ 165.5 million, an increase of 7.2% y-o-y;
3.Ferroalloys - $ 144.3 million, an increase of 32.1% y-o-y;
4.Wines - $ 85.7 million, an increase of 17% y-o-y;
5.Spiritous beverages – - $ 57.4 million, an increase of 32.4% y-o-y;
6.Waters, mineral and aerated waters, containing added sugar - $ 52.8 million, an increase of 23.3% y-o-y;
7.Nitrogen Fertilizers - $ 45.9 million, an increase of 17.7% y-o-y;
8.Medicines - $ 36.4 million, a decrease of 0.7% y-o-y;
9.Nuts and hazelnuts - $ 33.7 million, an increase of 95.1% y-o-y;
10.T-shirts knitted - $ 29.4 million, an increase of 93.4% y-o-y;
11.Other commodities - $ 559 million, an increase of 25.2% y-o-y.
