External Trade Of Georgia Up By 22.3% Y-O-Y

In January-September 2021 the external merchandise trade (excluding non-declared trade)of Georgia amounted to USD 10 009 million, 22.3% higher to the same period of 2020,- show the preliminary data from the National Statistics Office of Georgia (Geostat).

According to the document, exports equaled USD 2 981.3 million (24% higher), while the imports stood at USD 7 028.4 million (21.6% higher). The negative trade balance was USD 4 047 million in January-September 2021 and its share in external trade turnover constituted 40.4%.

In January-September 2021 the share of the top ten trading partners by imports in the total imports of Georgia amounted to 67.2 percent. The top partners were Turkey (USD 1 247.5 million), Russia (USD 718.8 million) and China (USD 599.9 million).

3. China - USD 1.078 billion;
4. Azerbaijan - USD 789.8 million;

8. Germany - USD 389.8 million;
9. Bulgaria - USD 286 million;
10. Italy - USD 219.1 million.
