The Sector Economy and Economic Policy Committee discussed with the first reading the legal initiative of MPs David Songulashvili, Eka Sepashvili, Bezhan Tsakadze, Irma Aavradashvili, Ramina (Rima) Beradze, Nino Tsilosani, Levan Mgaloblishvili and Gocha Enukidze on the gradual increase of the fees for the construction permit, introduced by the Chair of the Committee.

“The issue of the construction permit is connected to the respective administrative, material and human resources. The Draft allows the administrative bodies to mobilize more resources to the budget, which will ensure higher efficiency of administration of the issue of the permits”, - Songulashvili noted.

According to him, the fee shall increase from 4 to 10 GEL, and for the construction of the industrial facility in the resort zone – from 5 to 11 GEL. The increase shall not apply to the construction of individual houses.

“To prevent the unplanned extra expenses for the tax-payers, the fees will be increased gradually, namely, to 6 GEL from January 1, 2023; 8 GEL from January 1, 2024; and 10 GEL from January 1, 2025. As to the resort zone – to 7 GEL from January 1, 2023; 9 GEL from January 1, 2024; and 11 GEL from January 1, 2025”.

The Committee approved the Draft.
