According to the Finance Minister Ivane Machavariani, "inflation is coming down and it is not far from the target". The Minister declared it in the response to a reporter’s question about the price increase for a number of products.
"Since the beginning of the pandemic, product supply was disrupted and prices were grown. It was soon eliminated. I cannot name even a case that there has been a shortage of supply for the last few months. At this stage, inflation is coming down, it is not far from the target and I think we are not in danger in this regard," - said Vano Machavariani.
However, annual inflation was 3.8% in September, the target inflation for 2020 is set at 3%.
