Former Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Davit Tvalabeishvili is appointed as the General Director of JSC "Electricity Market Operator" (ESCO). He has served as the Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development from May 2019 to December 25, 2021.

The Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Natia Turnava introduced the new director general to the employees of ESCO.

According to the Minister, 2022 will be important especially for such organization as ESCO. As she explains, the company should keep the balance between the free electricity market and consumers, including population, as well as small businesses, which take electricity with regulated tariffs.

"This is a very important and responsible function. Therefore, we decided to appoint former Deputy Minister Davit Tvalabeishvili, as the head of ESCO, he is a particularly experienced staff and curator of the energy sector. He has coordinated energy effectively and knows well what challenges the sector will face in the future. ESCO's enhanced team will fulfill the tasks of further reforming in the energy sector and bringing it closer to the European type of energy market," Natia Turnava said.
