From which countries does Georgia import oil? – Statistics

According to the National Statistics Office, Georgia spent $ 105.7 million on acquisition of oil in the first two months of 2020, up 4.3% y-o-y. According to official statistics, none of the countries has a market share of more than 30%.

According to the countries, the first place is occupied by the Russian Federation, from which the volume of purchased oil is 45,965 tons and its value is $ 26.7 million. Georgia's neighbor Azerbaijan ranks fifth in the list, as Azerbaijan's oil imports fell by 45% in the first two months of 2020 to $ 6.6 million.

Countries from which Georgia buys oil (the list includes countries, where imports exceed $ 1 million):

1. Russia - $ 26.7 million USD;
2. Romania - $ 22.6 million USD;
3. Turkmenistan - $ 19.3 million USD;
4. Bulgaria - $ 9.8 million USD;
5. Azerbaijan – $6.6 million USD;
6. Turkey - $ 6.5 million USD;
7. Greece - $ 5.2 million USD;
8. Kazakhstan - $ 4.3 million USD;
9. Germany - $ 1 million USD.

The ranking includes countries from which Georgia has purchased refined petroleum products – i.e. gasoline, diesel, as well as aviation fuel.
