From which countries Georgia buys aviation oil – statistics of 5 months

In January-May 2020, imports of aviation oil fell by 47.9% to 22.4 thousand tons, according to the Union of Oil Product Importers.

According to them, the import of this product increased by 200% in May comparing to April.

"In May 2020, the import of aviation oil to Georgia amounted to 3.0 thousand tons, which is 2 thousand tons or 200% comparing to April (1.0 thousand tons) and 9.0 thousand tons or 75.0% less comparing to the same period of the last year (12.0 thousand tons).

In January-May of this year, the import of aviation oil amounted to 22.4 thousand tons, which is 20.5 thousand tons or 47.9% less comparing to the same period of the last year (42.9 thousand tons), "- the statement reads.

As for the importing countries, according to the Union of Oil Product Importers, in May we bought aviation oil from the following two countries:

• Turkmenistan - 2.7 thousand tons, 90% of imports;
• Turkey - 0.3 thousand tons, 10% of imports;

However, the product has been imported from following countries in January-May:

• Turkmenistan - 17.3 thousand tons, share in total imports - 77.2%;
• Turkey - 2.9 thousand tons, 12.9%;
• Romania - 2.2 thousand tons, 9.8%;
• Egypt - 0.03 thousand tons, 0.1%.
