Soso Pkhakadze, President of Wissol Group declares that fuel price in Georgia is much lower than on the international market.

As Pkhakadze explains it is difficult to make a forecast on fuel prices.

“It is very difficult to make a forecast regarding fuel prices. Of course, if we look at the estimates of experts and various companies, they expect that oil may go up to USD 100 a barrel, but now the price ranges within USD 82-84, which is twice as much as it was during the pandemic period.

Of course, the international market price has an impact on the raise of fuel cost. Georgia is an importer of fuel and, unfortunately, is directly proportional to the increase in prices on the international markets. We try our best not to reflect price increase fully on our customers. Everyone, who knows elementary arithmetic will understand that international prices are risen so much, that the cost of fuel at gas stations should be even higher, but it takes some time and we try our best not to make this process happen quickly," Soso Pkhakadze explained.

Fuel price hit a record high in Georgia and the price growth amounted to 10 tetri in the chain of petrol stations.
