Head of Georgia’s National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) Amiran Gamkrelidze says that many more people are infected with coronavirus in Georgia than official figures say.

Head of NCDC further stated that the government must impose further local restrictions to slow the spread of coronavirus.

According to Gamkrelidze, 3,128 new cases of coronavirus have been reported today, ‘which is not a decrease."

To him, less than 8,000 individuals have been tested for coronavirus in Georgia in the past three days (due to the weekend and a day off) instead of around 12,000, and this is the reason why the figure compared to the previous days has decreased.

According to the Head of NCDC, the government is expected to impose further restrictions in the coming two days.
