According to the consulting company Galt & Taggart, in January-April of this year, Georgia received $ 98.3 million in tourism revenue.

According to the weekly review published by the company, revenues from tourism are 77.5% lower than the same period last year.

The review cites information from the National Tourism Administration, according to which, in April 2021, international visits (tourists and overnight visitors) increased significantly by 140.4% year on year and amounted to 82.5 thousand visitors. "This increase is offset by an increase in the number of tourists from last year's low base (+ 182.2% y / y)," Galt & Taggart said in a review.

As for the data for the first 4 months of 2021, 212.7 thousand international visitors entered the country, which is a decrease of 81.6% compared to the previous year. Of the incoming international visitors, tourist visits amounted to 192.4 thousand (-75.7% y / y), which is 75.7% less.

"During the same period, we estimate that revenues from tourism amounted to 98.3 million US dollars (-77.5% y / y)," - reads the weekly review of Galt & Taggart.
