The head of the National Center for Disease Control did not think the health care system would withstand such a high infection rate. Amiran Gamkrelidze made this statement at a briefing held after the end of the Coordination Council, adding that "no one and nothing is ideal in this world, and the Georgian healthcare system also has its shortcomings."

"Nobody is ideal, and our country is not ideal, we are not a very rich country, but believe me, I, who have a long experience of working in the health sector, can do a comparative analysis.

I did not think that the health care system would withstand so many cases. Yes - there are shortcomings. You can criticize, but we see that the system can withstand it. Many thanks to our hero doctors ... I emphasize that everything is relative - the system is better prepared, but we are not perfect. Did you know that even the most well-established Scandinavian, British, French healthcare systems had a hard time? Everything is being updated in the healthcare system, and additional purchases are underway," Amiran Gamkrelidze said.
