The lari strengthened as a result of the June 3 trade. The exchange rate change against the US dollar amounted to 7.04 tetri, as a result of which the official value of the dollar became 3.1524 GEL.
This is the lowest value of the dollar for the whole of 2021, moreover, the price of one dollar since September 15, 2020, has not been 3.22 GEL.
Throughout the day, the lari in the Bloomberg system strengthened sharply and by 17:00 it dropped to 3.11, although as it turns out the average rate of these trades was 3.15, hence this is the official rate. It is possible that such a sharp rise has been caused by any major transaction in the market.
According to the NBG, the national currency strengthened by 8.13 tetri against the euro, as a result of which the official value of one euro became 3.8425 GEL.
Today, the lari strengthened against the Turkish lira by 0.88 tetri, as a result of which its value became 0.3654 GEL. The British pound sterling fee was reduced by 8.35 tetri and amounted to 4.4723 GEL.
The rates obtained as a result of today's trading will take effect from tomorrow, June 4.
In 2021, the NBG conducted a total of 7 currency auctions to reduce GEL exchange rate fluctuations and sold $ 242.9 million.
