Georgia lost its green status without using it - General Manager of Touristic company Travelshop Nika Manjgaladze told BM.GE.

According to him, when Georgia was considered a COVID-safe country, the borders were closed, making the stay difficult for a visitor coming to Georgia for just 3-4 days. "The only choice for visitors was Airzena. They had to first fly to Trabzon and then to Georgia from there, which was very inconvenient for those coming to Georgia for 3 or 4 days" - Manjgaladze said, adding: "Indirectly Georgian government managed to restrain Georgians from traveling - so for the airlines, it was not profitable to have only one-way flights".

Nika Manjgaladze said that if borders should have been closed, then today and not months ago. "I don't think anything will start to recover until Spring" - Manjgaladze said.
