In 9 months of the current year, 2,048,534.0 cubic m of gas was imported into Georgia. In the corresponding period of last year, this figure stood at 1,644,768.0 cubic m. Accordingly, the annual growth is 24.5%.
As for the tax paid for imported gas, the country paid almost USD 280 million in January-September. In the corresponding period of 2021, this figure was USD 192.5 million. The annual increase amounts to USD 87 million.
Parviz Shahbazov, Minister of Energy of Azerbaijan, wrote on Twitter a few days ago that 1.9 billion cubic meters of natural gas was exported from Azerbaijan to Georgia in 9 months.
