In the II quarter of 2022, the number of arrivals of international non-resident travellers in the territory of Georgia equaled 1 049.4 thousand, which is 198.7 percent higher compared to the data from the same period of previous year. Most of the incomes, 47.0 percent, were made by travellers of 31-50 age groups, National Statistics Office of Georgia (GeoStat) says.
The number of visits by international visitors from above-mentioned number made up 922.2 thousand, which is 176.2 percent higher compared to the data from the same period of 2021.
In the II quarter of 2022 the number of international visitors equaled to 765.3 thousand that is 189.4 percent higher compared to the data from the same period of previous year.
In the reporting period, international visitors have made 749.3 thousand tourist-type visits, which is 145.0 percent higher compared to the data from the same period of previous year.
81.8 percent of international visitors were only tourists. The share of excursionists amounted to 14.8 percent, while 3.5 percent of visitors were both tourists and same-day visitors.
In II quarter of 2022 the largest number of visitors (147.7 thousand visitors) was from Russian Federation, which amounts to 19.3 percent of total number of visitors. On second place is Turkey with 14.9% share and on third place – Armenia with 12.1% share.
Correspondingly, the largest number of visits were made by the citizens of Russian Federation (175.4 thousand), Turkey (158.3 thousand) and Armenia (136.8 thousand).
The majority of visitors (48.5 percent) belonged to the age group of 31-50 years. The number of women equaled to 37.0 percent of the total number of visitors.
In II quarter of 2022, the purpose of the majority of visits (52.0 percent) was holiday, leisure and recreation.
The majority of visits comes on Tbilisi and Adjara A/R, 512.7 thousands and 375.3 thousands accordingly. The chart below illustrates the distribution of visits by the visited regions.
In II quarter of 2022 the average number of nights spent during the visits equaled to 6.2 nights.
70.5 percent of visits was repeating visit. The chart below shows the distribution of visits by the level of satisfaction in II quarter of 2022.
The expenditures during the visits made in II quarter of 2022 equaled to 2.3 billion GEL ($824,637,630). Average expenditure on the visit equals 2 440.2 GEL ($875).
