Georgia Received Revenue of 2.8 BLN USD from International Tourism within 11M This Year

According to preliminary data, Georgia received revenue of $ 2.8 billion from international tourism in January-October 2019, up 0.9% or $ 25 million over the same period of the previous year.

As of the data of October, according to the National Tourism Administration, the country received $ 267 million from tourism (an increase of 5.2%) last month, up by $ 13 million from the same period of the last year.
To note, income from international travel has made up 877 million USD (increase +8.4%) in Q2, 2019, the figure is 68 million USD more comparing to the same period of previous year.

The revenues have made up 1.5 billion USD (increase +7%) in Q1 and Q2 of 2019, which is 95 million USD more comparing to the same period of 2018.

It is noteworthy that the share of tourism in GDP is 7.7% in Q1 and Q2 of 2019. The increase is + 19.7% compared to the previous year.

To remind, tourist number is grown by 10.3% and the total growth is 6.3%.

Namely, as of November 2019, 670,122 international travelers visited Georgia, the figure is up by + 12% comparing to the same period of the last year.

According to the National Tourism Administration, the number of international visits made up 543,176, which is + 11.9% more comparing to 2018, while the number of tourist visits was 338,831, which is + 10.3% more comparing to 2018.

As of January-November 2019, the number of visits carried out by international travelers to Georgia has achieved the historic benchmark - 8,690,352, the increase is 7.2% comparing to the same period of the last year.

During the same period, the number of international visits was 7,191,042 (increase + 6.6%), while the number of tourist visits was 4,768,432 (increase + 6.3%).
