5 068 new cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed within the last 24 hours. It was announced by Berdia Sichinava, Deputy Head of the Task Force operating at the Inter-Agency Coordination Council at a press-briefing held today at the Government Administration.
He spoke about the most recent statistical data related to COVID-19 in Georgia.
“As of today, 5 068 new cases of COVID-19 are confirmed within the last 24 hours. Since the detection of the first case the total number of infected has reached 152 704.
2 336 individuals have recovered within the last 24 hours, thus making the total number of recoveries reach 126 904.
Unfortunately, 38 new fatal cases have occurred within the last 24 hours. Since February 26, 2020 the total death toll has reached 1 425.
Out of 5 068 new cases detected today, geographic coverage of COVID-19 is as follows: 1 959 cases have been detected in Tbilisi, 483 – in Adjara, 980 – in Imereti, 296 – in Kvemo Kartli, 222 – in Shida Kartli, 122 – in Guria, 408 – in Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti, 335 – in Kakheti, 130 – in Mtskheta-Mtianeti, 114 – in Samtskhe-Javakheti and 19 – in Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti.
At present, active cases of COVID-19 have reached 24 349, out of which 6 671 individuals are treated at hospitals, out of which 2 925 are stationed in Tbilisi, 1 025 – in Adjara and 1 267 – in Imereti.
Currently, acute health conditions are observed in the case of 1 070 patients, out of which 491 are based in Tbilisi, 155 – in Adjara and 247 – in Imereti. Lung ventilators are used in the case of 476 patients, out of which 214 are stationed in Tbilisi, 117 – in Adjara and 45 – in Imereti. 3 899 individuals are placed at COVID Hotels, out of which 1 277 are based in Tbilisi, 2 022 – in Adjara and 343 – in Imereti. 13 779 individuals are treated at home.
1 241 individuals are placed in quarantine, out of which 365 are located in Tbilisi, 448 – in Adjara and 28 – in Imereti.
In total, 19 803 individuals have been transported from the sovereign border to quarantine spaces in the period of October 6 through December 3, 2020.
At present, 51 262 individuals are in self-isolation, out of which 19 437 are based in Tbilisi, 12 071 – in Adjara and 4 605 – in Imereti” announced Berdia Sichinava.
