Geostat reports, Georgia imported $ 31.8 million worth of electricity from neighboring countries in January-May this year.
Imports increased by about 15% comparing to the same period of the last year ($ 27.1 million).
As for the volume of imports per kilowatt hour, according to the Electricity System Operator (ESCO), in January-May 2020, 787 million kWh of electricity was imported, which is about 28% more comparing to the same period of 2019.
To note: as of May 2020, the country consumed 5 billion 198.5 million kWh of electricity, which is 2.1% less comparing to total data of January-May of the last year.
