Current and future projects funded in Georgia by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development were discussed on Thursday in a meeting between the Georgian finance minister Lasha Khutsishvili and Jurgen Rigterink, the first vice president of EBRD.

Khutsishvili thanked Rigterink for the support provided by the EBRD to Georgia on its “path of European aspirations”, the ministry said.

The officials reviewed the current and future projects funded by the bank in energy, municipal infrastructure, banking and agriculture sectors.

Khutsishvili provided information about the current situation in the country's economy, indicators of growth and future forecasts.

The meeting noted that despite the current “geopolitical shock”, the Georgian economy maintained “high rates” of economic growth, sustainability and macroeconomic stability.

Rigterink “positively assessed” the dynamics of cooperation between the bank and Georgia and noted the EBRD was “ready” to play an “important role” in the development of the country in the post-pandemic period.
