Georgian Foreign Trade Turnover Up By 37,9% In Three Months

In January-March 2022 the exports of Georgia equaled USD 1 171.8 million, 43.3 percent higher year-on-year. Share of the domestic exports in total export constituted 75.6% and amounted to USD 885.4 million, 46.6% higher to the same period of 2021, - according to the preliminary data of the National Statistics Service of Georgia (GeoStat).

As of the report, in January-March 2022 the share of the top ten trading partners by domestic exports in the total domestic exports of Georgia amounted to 79.6%. The top partners were China (USD 210.4 million), Turkey (USD 94.8 million) and Russia (USD 94.6 million).

In January-March 2022 copper ores and concentrates reclaimed the first place in the list of top export items, equaling USD 271.1 million, or 30.6% of total exports. The exports of ferroalloys totaled USD 160.1 million and their share in the total exports amounted to 18.1%. The exports of nitrogenous fertilizers occupied the third place standing at USD 76.5 million and constituting 8.6% of the total exports.
