Georgian Product Renaissance Exported 900 t of Nuts to 30 Countries

Georgian Product Renaissance (GPR) exported 900 t of processed hazelnuts in 2019, totaling about $ 4 million.
Levan Bolkvadze, one of the founders of Georgian Product Renaissance, told BM.GE about that.

According to him, 2019 was a good year compared to 2018. The company has also been successful due to the improved quality of the nuts and increased demand on the world market.

“2019 season is not over yet, but we have already exported more than 900 t of nuts worldwide, worth about $ 4 million. We increased export in almost every direction and by 2019 the area of export markets has grown and China has also been added. Various types of nuts are exported to all European countries, North America-South America, Asia, Africa and New Zealand. Totally, we export hazelnuts to about 30 countries. The company is 100% export oriented. Our products include roasted as well as processed hazelnuts. Unprocessed hazelnuts are quite popular in Asian countries”, says Levan Bolkvadze.

To note, Company Georgian Product Renaissance has been exporting Georgian hazelnuts since 2015. The initial investment value of the enterprise is $ 1 million. The factory is located in Khobi and employs over 80 persons according to the seasonality.
