Georgia's external debt decreased by GEL 1.1 billion in April.
As of May 1, the country owed USD 7.8 billion to foreign creditors, which was USD 259 million less than last month. The decrease exceeds 1 billion in the national currency.
Georgia's Foreign Debt:
• March 2022 - USD 8.08 billion
• April 2022 - USD 7.82 Billion (- USD 259.3 million)
Domestic debt was also reduced - by GEL 304 million. The total amount of domestic debt is GEL 5.8 billion.
The total public debt is GEL 29.8 billion.
Georgia's public debt:
• External debt - GEL 23.9 billion
• Domestic debt - GEL 5.89 billion
• Total - GEL 29.8 billion (-1.4 billion GEL).
