Georgia’s Revenue From Hazelnut Exports 101% Higher during Jan-April 2021

Georgia has exported hazelnuts to 30 countries during January-April 2021. The volume of exports of Georgian hazelnuts in monetary terms amounted to US$ 29, 178, 800, which is 101% higher compared to the same period of the prior year and 156% more in comparison with Jan-April 2019.  
 
A total of 4922.3 tonnes of hazelnuts, worth US$ 29, 178, 800 has been exported from Georgia during the first four months of the current year. The volume was 2272.7 tonnes, or US$14, 518, 800 in Jan-April 2020. This year, significant growth has been recorded even in comparison with pre-pandemic 2019. 2127 tonnes, worth US$ 11, 389, 200 hazelnuts has been exported during Jan-April 2019, which is 156% less than this year. 
 
With US$ 6, 939, 400 or 1128.6 tonnes, Germany was the main importer of Georgian hazelnut during the first four months of 2021. It was followed by Italy – US$3, 607, 400 or 581 tonnes.

Armenia – US$ 1, 842, 500; 408.3 tonnes;

Czechia – US$ 1, 496, 500; 246.5 tonnes;
Saudi Arabia – US$ 1, 432, 300; 209 tonnes;
France – US$ 1, 407, 000; 213 tonnes;
Spain – US$ 1, 167, 000; 184 tonnes;
Ukraine – US$ 1, 052, 100; 224.2 tonnes.
