In 10 months of 2022, the trade deficit of Georgia increased by USD 1.5 billion amounting to USD 6.1 billion, - according to the preliminary data from the National Statistics Office of Georgia (Geostat).

According to the report, the trade imbalance was caused by sharply increased imports. This year, Georgia purchased goods worth USD 10.7 billion from abroad, which was 33% more than the previous year.

During the same period, USD 4.54 billion worth of goods were exported, which was 34% more compared to the previous year.

Geostat will publish detailed data on foreign trade on November 21, so it will be known what categories of goods exports and imports have increased.
