The leader of the party "For Georgia" has nominated himself as a candidate for Tbilisi mayor.
Gakharia will nominate the mayoral candidates of the party "For Georgia", the majoritarian candidates of Tbilisi and the members of the Tbilisi list in the local self-government elections of 2021.
"I want to tell my former teammates, from today, friends, you will deal with me personally. In solidarity with each of our mayoral candidates, who today have to fight in extremely difficult conditions to protect the interests of Georgian citizens, I declare without hesitation that I will join you in the fight for the mayor of Tbilisi," Gakharia said, adding that today the city needs an environment free of nepotism.
"I was born in this city, I grew up in Tbilisi and I know what this city needs. I understand very well that this city needs dignity, this city needs a clean environment free from corruption and nepotism, this city needs big ambitions to become a megalopolis in the region, this city. We need megaprojects. We will offer a concrete plan to the people of Tbilisi, how it should become the first megacity in our big region," he added.
Gakharia also nominated members of the party list in the Tbilisi City Council.
