The operator of Tbilisi and Batumi International Airports, TAV Georgia, is still asking for recognition of a 7-month period as a force majeure from the Government of Georgia. The fact is that airports are closed for months.

"Negotiations with the government regarding the recognition of the force majeure situation are underway at this stage," Tea Zakaradze, Deputy General Manager of TAV Georgia told TV-program Business Morning.

As Zakaradze explained, "Currently Tbilisi International Airport is closed with a NOTAM."

"We are waiting for the expiration of that NOTAM and the negotiations with the government on recognizing the force majeure situation will end when Tbilisi International Airport opens with a full capacity," Zakaradze explained.
