The Georgian National Energy and Water Supply Regulatory Commission (GNERC) has issued electricity generating license to LLC Gardabani Thermal Power Station 2.
The 230 MW Combined Thermal Power Plant located in Gardabani Municipality was put into operation this year.
The projected output of LLC Gardabani Thermal Power Station 2 is 1.2 billion kWh. Combined-cycle, modern thermal power plant ensures the reliability and stability of the country's electricity system, especially during the winter months when the amount of electricity generated by hydropower plants is minimized due to lack of water in the rivers.
The plant consists of the following devices: Gas Turbine Generator "21" - 75 mgwt nominal capacity, Gas Turbine Generator "22" - 75 mgwt normal capacity and Steam Turbine Generator - 80 mgwt.
