A group of people protested today in front of the EU Delegations’ building in Yerevan demanding that the head of the Delegation, Ambassador Andrea Wiktorin, leave the country not to harm it.

According to protesters, who were led by the deputy chairman of the former ruling Republican Party of Armenia Armen Ashotyan, the EU diplomats turn a blind eye on the facts of repressions taking place in Armenia, ARKA reports.

"No one has done as much damage to human and European values as Madam Ambassador. The EU has had a very bad policy in Armenia of late: they appoint people here as ambassadors, who are then sent to retirement. Dear colleagues from the EU, stop "writing off" your poor staff through Armenia," Armen Ashotyan said.

He said the ambassadors, instead of promoting European values and democracy, are ruining it all, and Ambassador Wiktorin is serving the interests of the administration that was defeated in the war (2020 war in Nagorno-Karabakh).

"Why do you hide from the people that the implementation of the Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement (CEPA) between the EU and Armenia is in a shameful state? Why do you hide the fact that under Nikol Pashinyan's rule, Armenia is not implementing all the reforms that it committed to do back in 2013? Madam Ambassador, you will not change - you have nothing to do in Armenia. This protest is not against European values, it is to protect European values and democracy from you. I'll say it in English for better understanding - go home," he said.
