In one of her last interviews as the Head of the Georgian National Tourism Administration, Mariam Kvrivishvili stated that the current pandemic-related reality poses independent hindering factors that might prevent the new head from being able to fulfill the visions or the strategies he/she might have.
"People should really understand that the tourism industry is having challenges during this time. This will be over soon. However, all of us need to be together to make this period end soon. I believe that whoever takes this position should have courage. There are independent hindering factors that might prevent the new head from fulfilling the visions or the strategies he/she might have," - she said.
There is a clear procedure of how the head of the Georgian National Tourism Administration will be elected. Applicants go through an official selection process, in which anyone can participate. Anyone who meets the published requirements and qualifications will be able to submit their CVs on this position. Until the process is finalized, one of the deputies heads will serve as an acting head as per the regulation.
