Zurab Chiaberashvili, one of the leaders of European Georgia, responds to the number of flu vaccines in the country.
Chiaberashvili declares, that the government has to make reserves of flu vaccines in the spring and he notes that the current volume is not even enough for the risk groups.
"On April 22, I publicly warned the government to have more reserves of flu vaccine comparing to the previous years, because flu season and coronavirus epidemic would coincide.
Unfortunately, today there is a huge shortage of flu vaccine. Current data shows, that demand is much higher. The Ministry of Health says that they will bring the vaccine in a certain schedule but vaccination period is right now.
800,000 pensioners and people with disabilities are at risk from November, so if the vaccination is given in December or January, it will be delayed. Flu vaccine reduces the risks associated with the coronavirus”, Chiaberashvili said.
