Gov’t Is Looking For Procurement Consultant of COVID-19 Vaccine

The Board of Directors of the World Bank has approved an additional $ 34.5 million for Georgia On June 7. The purpose of this loan agreement is to finance the acquisition of COVID-19 vaccines by Georgia. In this regard, a vacancy is announced in the procurement system of the World Bank.

According to the statement, Ministry of Internally Displaced Persons from the Occupied Territories, Labor, Health and Social Affairs (MoILHSA), as an Implementing Agency of the EMERGENCY COVID-19 RESPONSE PROJECT in Georgia is soliciting applications for the position of COVID-19 VACCINE PROCUREMENT CONSULTANT.

As the World Bank web-page reads, interested candidates must submit their application until June 21, 2021 18:00.

“The main objectives of this assignment is to assist the Ministry of Internally Displaced Persons from the Occupied Territories, Labor, Health and Social Affairs (MoILHSA) in implementation of the “Georgia COVID-19 Vaccine National Deployment Plan”, specifically on ”COVID-19 Vaccine Procurement”, through different channels, including COVAX facility, supply, and cold chain management and logistics, and other issues related to Procurement of COVID-19 Vaccine as well as goods & services required for vaccine administration that are of specific need for the MoILHSA and assist the Coordination Committee created under the MoILHSA on for the Procurement of Covid-19 Vaccine as well as goods & services required for vaccine administration”, the statement reads.

As of June 20, 233,488 citizens took COVID-19 jabs in Georgia. The number of daily vaccinated persons totals to 3,583.

According to Deputy Health Minister Tamar Gabunia, Georgia will receive 3.2 million doses of COVID-19 vaccine in July-October, including Pfizer, Novavax, Sinopharm, SinoVac and Johnson & Johnson.
