President of the National Bank of Georgia (NBG) said today on the question of shadow lending that if the NBG sees that the so-called "private lending" is a problem, the National Bank will take appropriate steps to stop it.
"As for the shadow sector in the banking system, if we see that private borrowing is activated incorrect direction appropriate measures should be taken. Though it will not be completely disappeared and it will always exist.
If we see that this sector is growing and becoming more important, we will pay attention to it so that the legislation does not allow the sector to grow more, "said Koba Gvenetadze
