Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze declares that winner companies are revealed in the tender worth EUR 9 million for the waste management program, which includes the purchase of 67 garbage trucks and 7 street sweapers. As Kakha Kaladze stated before the meeting of the municipal government, the capital will receive the equipment within 8-10 months.
According to him, the solid waste management program is implemented within the framework of a loan agreement with the EBRD.
"It has been decided to purchase garbage trucks within the project. We have winner companies in the announced tender, they will provide us with the appropriate equipment. EUR 15 million were allocated for the project. The main component of the loan is the purchase of special equipment - including 67 units of garbage trucks and 7 street sweepers, which cost a total of EUR 9 million. Having this equipment in the city is very important so that people who work in cleaning service can work comfortably.
The agreement has been signed with the companies and this equipment should be delivered to Tbilisi in 8-10 months", Kaladze said.
