Hazelnuts Exports 28% Up Last Year

A total of 18.2 tonnes of Georgian hazelnuts have been exported from August 1 to January 16, 2022, which amounted to 83.2 million USD, - the Georgian Agriculture Ministry announces.

In this period, exports of Georgian hazelnuts and other nuts increased by 28% (3.9 thousand tonnes), while their value grew by 11% (USD 8.1 million) compared to the same period last year.

Georgian hazelnuts were exported to the following EU countries: Italy (7,511 tons), Germany (3,523 tonnes), Spain (500 tonnes), Czech Republic (445 tonnes), Poland (357 tonnes), Lithuania (327 tonnes), France (327 tonnes) and others.

Georgian nuts were also exported in Armenia (1,265 tonnes), China (785 tonnes), Russia (400 tonnes), Ukraine (302 tonnes), Saudi Arabia (301 tonnes), Algeria (241 tonnes) and others.
