Highly Demanded Covid-19 Jabs By The Region

As of May 12, 71,570 people took COVID-19 jabs in Georgia, which is 1.9% of the country's population. The vaccination process in Georgia started on March 15 with AstraZeneca vaccine, after which the Pfizer jabs were added to the vaccination process. The immunization program picked up a relatively high pace from May 4, when Sinopharm vaccine was distributed. A total of 4,433 people has been vaccinated with Sinopharm jab within the last 24 hours. The Government of Georgian is also discussing the use of the Sinovac vaccine; however, this vaccine does not yet have WHO’s authorization.

Which COVID-19 Jabs Are Highly Demanded In The Countries of the Region

1,705,906 took COVID-19 jabs in Azerbaijan so far. The vaccination campaign in the country started on January 18 with the Chinese-made Sinovac vaccine. According to Azerbaijan media, 1,009,487 people were vaccinated, including 696,419 persons took two doses of vaccine. Consequently, 7% of the country's population is fully vaccinated.

10,727 citizens took COVID-19 shots in Armenia so far. The vaccination in the country is carried out with the Russian-made Sputnik V vaccine, as well as AstraZeneca jabs obtained from COVAX. Overall, less than 0.3% of the population has been vaccinated so far. On April 30, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said that "shamefully few" people had took COVID-19 jabs in the country.

Russia has vaccinated 19,800,000 persons with COVID-19 vaccine so far. The vaccination process in the country is mainly carried out through locally produced Sputnik V. According to Bloomberg, 5.2% of the population is fully vaccinated at this time.

25,284,807 vaccines have been made in Turkey so far. The vaccination process in the country started in January and it is mainly carried out by CoronaVac produced by Sinovac. The share of the population vaccinated twice in the country is 12.7%. This week, Turkey’s health minister said the country had signed a contract with Russia for the purchase of 50 million doses of Sputnik V.
