Lekso Aleksishvili, the general director of the consulting company PMCG says if the problem of the judicial system and the improvement of administrative institutions are not overcome in the country, it will be impossible to talk about the business environment.

According to him, there are a number of problems that must be corrected before foreign investors enter the country.

"Since the third quarter of 2021, the business environment in Georgia has been positively assessed by businesses. This is caused by many factors, on the one hand, the macroeconomic stability is more or less preserved in the post-pandemic situation, and the exchange rate of the lari is also stabilized.

All these components are in place. But, from the other side, we see the challenges in Georgia. Among them, one is the judicial system and administrative institutions. This problem is especially related to civil and business disputes. When a foreign investor makes a decision to invest in this or that country, he reads absolutely everything," he explains.

According to Aleksishvili, the country should do its utmost to create such a base in Georgia that will give the opportunity to anyone from any country to do business.

"Georgia should create additional value through the transit that it will implement based on foreign trade and foreign economic relations, including the energy sector, trade, communication or financial services", - said Aleksishvili.
