Georgia earned USD 244,941,717 from tourism in 2021. According to the National Tourism Administration, tourism recovery turned out rapid in terms of both revenue and travel last year.
“Revenues from international tourism sees significant upturn in 2021 compared to 2019. 38% of revenues have recovered in 2021. As for December, recovery rate made up 58%. Revenue growth exceeds 130% compared to 2020.
In 2021, the number of international travelers in Georgia amounted to 1,881,271, which is 20% up compared to the pre-pandemic levels, while the number of international travelers has increased by 7.7% compared to 2020.
1,577,463 international tourist visits took place in Georgia in 12M21. 31% of tourist visits has recovered compared to 2019. The growth amounted to 45.1% compared to 2020.
In 2021, the majority of international visits took place by air. In particular, 51% of visits were made through Georgia's international airports. "Recovery amounted to 48% compared to 2019," - the tourism administration said in a statement.
