95 hotels in Georgia have given space to the government to place Georgian citizens under quarantine in order to prevent the spread of the new coronavirus.
According to Georgian National Tourism Administration (GNTA), 33 756 individuals have been placed under quarantine in 9M2021 and the government spent GEL 20 371 026.
It is important that the cost of one night in a quarantine hotel is set at GEL 80, GEL120 and GEL150, which includes three meals a day, personal hygiene items, cleaning supplies and a thermometer. There is also water, tea, coffee and sugar in the hotel rooms for those located in quarantine areas.
According to the Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Natia Turnava, 215 hotels were engaged in the quarantine space program and as a result, 3,620 employees retained their jobs. As Turnava declares, 133,767 people used the quarantine spaces last year.
