According to the National Center for Disease Control (NCDC), 2260 people have been vaccinated in Georgia in the last 24 hours. As of October 18, a total of 1,914,269 vaccinations had been administered and 902,660 people had been fully vaccinated, representing 31.6% of the adult population.

According to the NCDC, 1,011,376 people, or 35.6% of the adult population are vaccinated with at least 1 vaccination. On October 17, 1567 people were vaccinated in Tbilisi. According to the regions, Adjara leads with 234 vaccines, followed by Imereti with 219 vaccines.

Yesterday, October 17, the head of the National Center for Disease Control, Amiran Gamkrelidze, said that if the number of daily vaccinations in the country does not increase, the government will have to impose restrictions.

"Unfortunately, the number of daily vaccinations has dropped, which is very bad. Therefore, we need to increase the vaccination rate. Tomorrow the vaccination marathon will start and we will see how the population will react. We will monitor the situation. If we do not increase the number of vaccinations, then it will be quite difficult and the country will have to impose restrictive measures again, otherwise, the epidemic situation will not stabilize," Gamkrelidze said.
