As of the Revenue Service, 2% less hired employees received wages in September 2020, - according to a report published by TBC Capital. The document reads, that the decrease is mostly observed in the lower paid groups.
“Employment rate decline in September is related to the reduction revealed in the low-paid segment (<1,200 GEL). However, 36,442 less people were paid in this category comparing to September 2019. It should be noted, that the number of employees in the middle and high income categories has increased comparing to the previous year," report of TBC Capital reads.
In September, the Ministry of Finance mobilized 221.9 million GEL as an income tax, which is 37 million GEL or 14.4% less comparing to 2019.
In the first nine months of 2020, the volume of income tax amounted to 2.2 billion GEL in total, which is 133.6 million GEL less compared to the same period in 2019. This means that in January-September 2020, 670 million GEL less salary was paid in Georgia.
