The Government of Georgia published renovated national vaccination plan. The document reads that the government is considering 4 various scenarios to vaccinate 60% of population late this year.

The scenario includes acquisition of various manufactures’ vaccines and their distribution for 1.7 million citizens (60% of population).

According to the Healthcare Ministry, vaccination campaign will cost around 64-158 million GEL. The reason for this difference is the lack of a clear decision on the selection of vaccines so far.

Cost for Per Dose COVID-19 Jab:

1. AstraZeneca – cost for per dose COVID-19 jab ranges from $3 to $7.43;
2. Pfizer/BioNtech – cost for per dose COVID-19 jab ranges from $18.34 to$19.50;
3. Moderna – cost for per dose COVID-19 jab ranges from $25 to $34.50
4. Sinovac – cost for per dose COVID-19 jab ranges from $13.60 to $34.50
5. Novavax – cost for per dose COVID-19 jab start at $3
6. Johnson & Johnson – cost for per dose COVID-19 jab starts at $10

It worth noting that 1% or 34,897 persons are vaccinated in Georgia at this stage. COVID-19 vaccination started with Pfizer and AstraZeneca jabs in the country, which the country received from COVAX platform. As of Health Ministry, vaccination will start with Sinopharm from May 4, but the jab does not yet have WHO’s authorization.
