Georgia received revenue of USD 2.4 million from the exports of seafood and fish. The figure is 27.4% behind compared to the pandemic year, while 12% up compared to 2019 (2020 – USD 3.3 million; 2019 – USD 2.2 million).

As of official statistics, exports of seafood and fish were made mainly in the neighboring countries.

1. Azerbaijan - USD 900.5 thousand;
2. Russia – USD 858 thousand;
3. Armenia – USD 554.9 thousand;
4. Ukraine – USD 45.4 thousand;
5. Uruguay – USD 41.7 thousand;
6. Indonesia – USD 24.5 thousand.

As for imports, Georgia spent USD 32.6 million to buy seafood and fish in 2021. According to official data, imports of these goods have changed slightly over the last 5 years and the pandemic has not had a significant impact on its rate. For example: in 2020, the cost of imports of fish and seafood amounted to USD 32.1 million, in 2019 - USD 34.6 million, in 2018 - USD 30 million, and in 2017 - USD 37.4 million.
