Deputy Health Minister Tamar Gabunia claims that the vaccination plan will be fulfilled and 60% of the adult population will be vaccinated late this year, although the government has an ambition to vaccinate more people, - this is how Gabunia answered the question from BMG, if the Interagency Council is satisfied with the pace of vaccination.

“The vaccination pace was down in the last week of September. While earlier, the rate was quite high and 25 thousand dozes of vaccines were administrated during the day. It would be nice to keep that pace, however for a number of reasons we are in such a condition now. As for additional intervention measures, we are not talking about any event is delayed, we are talking about phasing and which intervention will have more effect at what time," Tamar Gabunia said.

According to her, "the vaccination promotion campaign should continue with positive messages."

“The main thing is to continue the vaccination promotion campaign with positive messages. We will definitely reach the target and vaccinate 60% of adult population, however it will not be enough to protect ourselves from further waves. So, our ambition is higher and we want to exceed 60%”, - Gabunia said.
