The World Health Organization Ketevan Chkhatarashvili responds Health Minister Ekaterine Tikaradze’s statement, where she criticized clinics and blamed them inefficient management of the “bed fund”.

According to Chkhatarashvili, a specific circle cannot take responsibility for the shortcomings identified to the management process, because everyone who manages a pandemic is responsible.

"I do not know why Mrs. Minister is dissatisfied. Bed number and breathing apparatus do not determine readiness of the health care system in such conditions. However, we know that the resource is scarce. We are neither America nor the UK, so the resource is limited and it must be used as efficiently as possible. If the matter concerns to the number of beds or who must be treated at the hospital, I do not know who takes such decisions.

The second issue is how long these people stay in medical facilities; Do you really need to be at the hospital ... It automatically causes overloading and patients who really need treatment at the hospital might remain without it”, said Ketevan Chkhatarashvili.
